The straightforward version
Is Bankruptcy For Me? is an independent educational resource. It is not a government agency, a court, or a law firm. The whole guide runs entirely on your device. When you type a number, it stays in your browser's memory only long enough to show you a result. We do not collect it, we do not transmit it, and there is no database of users because there are no users to track. We also serve our own fonts and code directly, so loading this site does not quietly share your visit with Google or any other outside company.
One bit of honesty. Like every website, the service that hosts these pages keeps basic, automatic request logs, things like an IP address, which page loaded, and when, for security and reliability. That is standard for the entire internet, and it is completely separate from your answers, which are never sent and which we never see. If that level of logging matters to you, you can use a private or incognito window, or a VPN.
What about getting help? If you ever decide you want a bankruptcy attorney to review your situation, you choose to share your summary at that moment, and only then. Nothing is sent anywhere automatically, and you would always see exactly what is shared and agree to it first.
If we ever add privacy-respecting analytics to learn which steps help most, we will count visits, never the numbers you enter, and we will say so here plainly first.
